Abita Springs is a town in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area, and its population at the 2010 census was 2,112. It was originally a Native American village.
The local economy is has significant contributions from the the Abita Brewing Company, which was established in 1986 and the UCM Museum. The Abita Springs Opry works for preserving and promoting Louisiana native music, and has six concerts every year throughout the country. The population comprises predominantly White Americans. A small percentage of the population comprises African Americans.
