Adams is a town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. It is part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area, and its population at the 2010 census was 8,485.
Adams was originally a mill town. Now, the only major remaining mill, Specialty Minerals, mines and processes limestone for calcium carbonate, used in antacids and food supplements, as well as paper whiteners and other industrial purposes. Efforts have also been made to attract tourism to the area. Scenic beauty, many outdoor activities, proximity to museums and galleries are some points in favour of this activity.
