Brief Information About Agency

Agency is a city in Wapello County, Iowa. It is the historic site of an Indian trading post and the grave of Chief Wapello. Its population at the 2000 census was  622.

An Indian agency was at the site from 1838 till they were moved to Kansas. The town was founded in 1843 and settled in 1859.

The city population predominantly comprises White Americans.
