Alanson is a village in Emmet County in the state of Michigan. It is in Littlefield Township, and its population at the 2000 census was 785.

Alanson is part of the Inland Water Route, which includes: Crooked, Burt, and Mullett Lakes, and the Crooked, Indian, and Cheboygan Rivers. The Inland Water Route Historical Society Museum is also located in the village. It also has a hillside garden.

The population has a majority of White Americans. A small percentage of the population comprises Native Americans.
