Brief Information About Albany
A small town in Orleans County with a population of around 840 as per the 2000 census. It mainly consists of about four villages is a hilly and uneven area. It is situated on the major VT route 14. Nature has poured its bounty with breath taking scenic beauty, like the black river flowing north and releasing into a lake near Newport a part of the basin of the St. Lawrence river.
With a majority white population of over 97% and the rest compromises of blacks and Native Americans. The per capita income of the town of Albany is around $15,287 with about 15.3% of the people is living below the poverty line index. One of major points of attraction for tourists include the Northeast Kingdom Music Festival apart from the breathtaking scenic beauty.
