Brief Information About Amesbury
Amesbury is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts. Though it is officially a city, the formal name remains the "The Town of Amesbury". Its population at the 2010 census was 16,283.
The town was historically an aggressive maritime and industrial economy. Farming was comparatively less important. Textile mills, a mechanized nail-making mill (perhaps the nation's first), carriage building factories, all these were present in the nineteenth century. These were adversely affected by the Great Depression.
The city has a number of historic buildings, particularly in the Federal and Victorian styles. Restoration is being carried out for the downtown area.
The population predominantly comrpises White Americans.
