Brief Information About Andrews Air Force Base

Joint Base Andrews is a United States military facility located in Prince George's County. It is named after Lieutenant General Frank M. Andrews (1884–1943), former Commanding General of United States Forces in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. Andrews is famous for serving as the home base of two Boeing VC-25A aircraft that serve the President of the United States.

Its population at the 2000 census was 7,925.

According to the 2000 census, the town was 65.3% White, 22.8% African American, with the remaining being people of other races. 8.7% of the population were people of Hispanic origin.
