Andrews is a city in and the county seat of Andrews County, Texas. It is the major city of the Andrews Metro Area, as well as the larger Midland-Odessa Combined Statistical Area. It has a total area of 4.8 square miles, all of which is land. The city was incorporated in 1937, and named after Richard Andrews.
Petroleum has been the bedrock of economic development of the city. Other employers include Waste Control Specialists, the Kirby Corporation vacuum cleaner factory, etc. ACE Arena and Business Park West have opened recently to attract potential revenue generators. Public education is administered by the Andrews Independent School District. The Andrews Business and Technology Center is also located here.
