Lancaster sees 13% drop in serious crime in 2011Lancaster sees crime decline: The Antelope Valley City of Lancaster last year recorded a 13% drop in serious crimes, including murder, rape and robbery. There were 260 crimes per 10,000 residents in 2011, down from 299 per 10,000 residents the previous year. The new crime stats represent a reduction in the crime rate of more than 42% since 2007, city officials said.
