Applegate is a community in Jackson County, Oregon. It is an unincorporated area located west of Medford on Oregon Route 238 and the Applegate River. It is named after one of the pioneers who blazed the Applegate Trail.

In 2001, this region became an American Viticultural Area, also called the Applegate AVA. It is the sixth such designated area in the state. Tourism is also popular here.
