Travel for recreational, leisure and business purposes is tourism. Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Sightseeing is a part of tourism and involves traveling to distant parts of the world to see great buildings, work of art, experience new cultures and taste different cuisines. The developments in technology and transport infrastructure, such as jumbo jets, low-cost airlines and more accessible airports, have made many types of tourism more affordable. The terms tourism and travel are sometimes used interchangeably. In this context, travel has a similar definition to tourism, but implies a more purposeful journey. In recent years tourism has become hugely popular in places like Arkadelphia. Development of tourism in a particular place also leads to economic development of the place.
