Helpful Definition for: Skin Care
As the term suggests, Skin-Care, refers to taking care of one's skin through some beauty regime. A lot of skin care products are available in the market now-a-days. These include creams and lotions to moisturize the face and body which are often formulated for different skin types. Then there are sun-screen lotions to protect the skin from the ultra-violet rays of the sun, skin lighteners to repair or hide skin imperfections like acne, dark circles; tanning oil to brown the skin, etc.
Proper skin hygiene is important because unclean skin allows the development of bacteria. The dead skin cells mix up with sweat and dust to form a filthy layer on the surface of the skin and if proper skin care is not taken it leads to further damage of the skin. Apart from using the skin care products, one should also use cosmetic products carefully on the skin because these may cause allergic reactions. One should also dress according to the season in order to facilitate the evaporation of the sweat. Sunlight, water and air play an important role in keeping the skin healthy. Also different types require different treatment, for example, method of cleansing oily skin is to cleanse with a natural face cleanser formulated especially for oily skin, followed by a toning lotion.
