Ashland is a city located within the counties of Bayfield and Ashland in Wisconsin. Ashland has a port at Lake Superior. It is located near the Bay of Chequamegon. Ashland has a total area of about 35.5 sq. kms. and is located at an elevated height of about 670 ft. above the ground level.
Tourism is an important part of the local economy. It is especially benefitted by the location of a number of parks and museums in the area. There is a County Market Store at Ashland which is the center of major ecnomic transactions in the city. Bretting Manufacturing and Berkshire Hathway are some of the principal employers of the region. The education system of the city is quite developped, and serves the local community with education services apart from offering employment oppurtunities. The local transport and transit system is also quite advanced in the area.
