Brief Information About Aurora
City of Aurora is a Home Rule Municipality spanning Arapahoe, Adams, and Douglas counties in Colorado. It is an eastern suburb of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. As per the 2010 Census the city had a population of 325,078. Aurora originated in the 1880s, then named Fletcher, for the Denver businessman Donald Fletcher who saw it as a real estate opportunity. The town was renamed in 1907 after one of the subdivisions of the town itself. The largest employers in the city are The Children's Hospital, Raytheon Company, Kaiser Permanente, ADT security services and a few more.
