Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine. Its population at the 2010 census was 5,235.

The College of the Atlantic, Jackson Laboratory and Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory are all located here, as well as the most part of the Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain. Now, Bar Harbor is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. Cruise ships are in the harbor from May through October.
