Brief Information About Bass Harbor
Bass Harbor (also known as McKinley) is a village in Hancock County, Maine. It is near Acadia National Park. The harbor is naturally well-sheltered, and it ranks as one of the most lucrative lobster producing ports in the state. The village is terminal for both the Swans Island ferry and Frenchboro ferry.
It was called McKinly from the early 1900's till 1961, when the current name of Bass Harbor was adopted.
