Bentonia is a town in Yazoo County, Mississippi. Its population at the 2000 census was 500.
The town is famous for the musical genre "Bentonia Blues". The annual Bentonia Blues Festival is held the third Saturday of June in downtown Bentonia. Additionally, the Blue Front Cafe in Bentonia and native son Skip James have received historical markers by The Mississippi Blues Commission to commemorate their importance in the history of the development of the Blues in the state.
The population has a majority of White Americans. A significant percentage of the population comrpises African Americans.
