Brief Information About Biloxi
Biloxi is a city in Harrison County, Mississippi. It is the county seat of Harrison County, along with Gulfport. The city is part of the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area and the Gulfport-Biloxi-Pascagoula, Mississippi Combined Statistical Area, and its population at the 2010 census was 44,054.
The local economy is sustained by three major activities: tourism, gaming and seafood. It has a number of hotels and casinos.
Hurrican Camille and Hurricane Katrina had devastating impacts on the city, which led to many infrastructural losses. Restoration and repair work is still being carried out both at federal as well as state level. The city is rapidly implementing plans to allow the redevelopment of commercial properties south of highway 90.
The population predominantly comprises White Americans. A significant percentage of the population comrpises African Americans, and small percentages of people are of Asian and Hispanic origins.

During a Biloxi Council workshop, nearly two dozen people spoke-up for and against a proposed smoking ban. One side argued that businesses will get burned if Biloxi goes smoke-free. Others said it's about saving lives.
