With a total area of about 17 sq. kms. Black Mountain is located in the County of Buncombe in North Carolina, USA. It is elevated from the ground by about 2400 ft. There are a number of shops at Black Mountains, mostly engaged with the eclectic business and several restaurants. Most of the locals are pimarily engaged with the seasonal tourism and related services.

There is the Black Mountain College and the Montreat College serving the needs of the local community. The town also boasts of a few places of tourist's interest which attract substantial number of local tourists in the area every year.
