Buxton is a town of York County in the U.S. State of Maine. Buxton is a part of Portland-Bidderford and Portland-South, MMSA. Buxton also includes the villages of Chicopee, Salmon Falls, Bar Mills among others. Buxton has a total area of about 41 sq. miles. Buxton borders the town of Scarborough, Gorham, and Saco. There are many historical places of interest like Historical Society Museum of Buxton-Hollis, Meeting House of Tory Hill and the Powder House. Tourism and trade are the principal economic activities of the region. Some notable residents of the town are J. Brewster, M.H.Dunnell and G. Bradbury.
