Brief Information About Caliente
Caliente, formerly known as Culverwell and Calientes is a town in Lincoln County, Nevada. The word means "hot" in Spanish, and the town is so named for the hot springs in the region. Its population at the 2000 census was 1,123.
Kershaw-Ryan State Park, which contains hiking trails, campgrounds, volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, horseshoe pits, a playground, and a small natural swimming pool, is located near Caliente.
The population has a majority of White Americans. A significant percentage of the population comprises people of Hispanic origin.
