Columbus may have one or more Baptist chuches. aptists are a loose organization comprising a number of denominations and churches that believe in the doctrine that baptism should be performed only for professing believers (believer's baptism, as opposed to infant baptism), and that it must be done by immersion (as opposed to affusion or sprinkling). They are usually considered to be Protestant churches. Globally, there are over 100 million Baptists and Baptistic group members. According to estimates, more than 33 million Baptists are present in North America, with the largest Baptist organization being the Southern Baptist Convention. The Baptist chuch in Columbus would also follow certain other believes and conventions, such as soul competency (liberty), salvation through faith alone, and the scripture alone as the rule of faith and practice.
