'Auto Racing' is the racing setup of adjustments made to the vehicle to optimize its performance, management and consistency and to involve the cars for competition; adjustments can occur in suspensions, brakes, transmissions, engines, tires, and many others. In Crete race tracks are primarily designed for contest through speed, featuring defined start and finish lines and even defined timing points.

In Crete, many racetracks are for multi-use, allowing different types of sport on the same track, or incorporating many tracks in one venue. There are many different types of racing; single seater racing, touring car racing, sports and production car racing, and single marquee and each having a different kind of race track. The oldest auto race track worldwide is the 'Milwaukee Mile'.
