Sports Medicine, in Effort, refers to the medical and scientific services provided to prevent, recognize and manage injuries related to sport, exercise and other recreational activities. Usually in every sports team, there is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), who is a highly skilled professional specialized in the health care of physical activity. They are responsible for care & prevention of athletic injury. The common sports injuries include concussion, caused by severe head trauma where the brain moves violently within the skull so that brain cells all fire at once; muscle cramps, a sudden tight, intense pain caused by a muscle locked in spasm; ankle sprain, the ligaments that hold the ankle bones in place can easily be overstretched, etc.
