Evergreen is a city in and the county seat of Conecuh County, Alabama. It has a total area of 15.2 square miles, most of which is land. The city was founded in 1819, and incorporated in 1873.
Transportation and warehousing, manufacturing and public administration are the major contributors to the local economy. Public schooling is provided by the Conecuh County Board of Education, comprising a high school, a junior high school, a middle school and an elementary school. Reid State Technical College is a trade school present here. The local airport is the Middleton Field Airport. The closest hospital is Evergreen Medical Center on Crestview Avenue.
