Brief Information About Fallon
Fallon is a city in and the county seat of Churchill County, located in western Nevada. Its population at the 2000 census was 7,536. The city is situated in the Lahontan Valley.
Though located in an arid region, agriculture is a major activity here. The farmlands are irrigated with water supplied by the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District and the principal crop is alfalfa. Naval Air Station Fallon, which runs the Navy's Top Gun training program since 1996, also provides a significant employment.
Fallon is also known as the "Oasis of Nevada".
The population has a majority of White Americans. A significant percentage of the population comprises people of Hispanic origin, and a small percentage of the population comprises Asians and Native Americans.
