Girard is a town located in the north east corner of Russell County in Alabama. The Chattahoochee River flows right beside the town. Long ago in the past, Girard used to serve as the county seat. The town was taken over by Phenix City in 1923, and the Russell County spread its boundaries to include Phenix within its territory.
Among the notable residents of the place was Albert C. Baker, who served on the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court and Arizona Supreme Court.
