Brief Information About Girdwood
Girdwood is basically a ski resort located within the Municipality of Anchorage. Located in the valley of Chugach Mountains, there are about seven permanent glaciers in and around Girdwood. Most of the locals are primarily engaged in fishing, hiking and rafting in the area. Since the winters are almost frozen so the local economic activities are pimarily centered around the summer months. Tourism is also a very important economic activity in the region and a number of local inhabitants are primarily engaged with it. Some ae also involved in health and the service sector, and the local Post office.
