A Snowmobile, in Grafton, is a vehicle used for travelling on snow and is also known as a snow-machine. As they are specifically designed to be operated on snow, they do not require any road. The snow mobile can, at best, accommodate one person who rides it and one adult passenger, and is more like a motor-cycle. A snowmobile was created with the intention of it being a winter utility vehicle only; however, lately they have been used for recreational purposes as well.

Snowmobiles mostly find takers in the arctic territories and are also sold for recreational purposes in some parts of North America. Relatively low number of snowmobiles is found in Europe and other parts of the world, though they are growing rapidly in popularity. Due to the high speed and acceleration involved, it requires a skilled and physically strong individual to operate a snowmobile. The rate of injuries and fatalities caused by snowmobiles are much higher than those of normal road vehicles. Losing control of a snowmobile can easily cause extensive damage, injury, and even death. Each year many riders are also killed as they collide with other snowmobilers, trees or by falling on ice. However, the risks can be reduced through education, proper training, and usage of appropriate gear while riding a snowmobile.
