Haines is a census-designated place located in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is within north-central part of Haines Borough close to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. It was incorporated on January 24, 1910 but disincorporated on October 17, 2002 in consolidating the Haines Borough into a home rule borough. Haines total area is 20.6 square miles at 59°14′2″N 135°26′49″W. The elevation is 36 feet above sea level. In 2010, the total population was 1,713 with a population density of 130/sq mi.
