The term 'Spa' is derived from the name of the town Spa in Belgium and is associated with water treatment. Spa resorts usually offer various water treatments through the curative powers of mineral water. In earlier days, it was believed that bathing in hot or cold springs could cure various ailments and was also known as medicinal bathing. But after the American Revolution, the spa industry began to gain popularity. A medical spa is a term that describes any medical office in Lakeland that operates under the supervision of a licensed health care professional, and offers non-surgical cosmetic medical treatments.
Whereas, 'Sauna' is a facility in a small room or house, designed as a place to experience dry or wet heat sessions.
