Brief Information About Lihue
Lihue is a small village of Kauai County in the U.S. state of Hawai. Lihue is the largest town in the island of Hawaii. With a total area of about 18.5 sq. kms., the town is located at an elevated height of about 220 ft. from the ground level. Retail is a major industry in the area with a large number of stores and shopping facilities like Wal-Mart, Sears and others. Education is another area of employment, since the island is home to the Kauai community College, which is linked with the University of Hawaii. There are several other schools -- both public and private. A substantial part of the local population is of Asian origin.
