What Is: Shopping Cart Repair ?
Shopping cart repair is the business of repairing and servicing supermarket and grocery store shopping carts and related store equipment in order to prolong the useful life of the cart fleet and improve the overall shopping experience for the retail customer. Some common shopping cart repairs include wheel and caster replacement; basket and cart-back welding; frame repair, welding and replacement; baby seat welding; plastic cart repair; seat belt replacement and wheel lubrication. Carts may also be steam cleaned or cold-sanitized to remove dirt, grime and oil. Most shopping cart repair companies also do repairs and maintenance of other supermarket equipment, including stock carts, kiddie carts, U-boats and storage racks. Cart repair businesses typically perform their work on-site at the various retail stores with whom they do business. Retail grocery stores will frequently contract with a particular cart repair business for the maintenance and repair of their fleet of carts; large supermarket chains may purchase all of their carts from the same manufacturer, which then also provides servicing and repairs for the chain's entire fleet.
