Radiology is an expanding field in medicine. Radiologists use an array of imaging technologies to diagnose or treat diseases. On completion of residency training, in Newark, radiologists may either begin practicing or enter into sub-specialty training programs, known as fellowships. Several medical schools in Newark, have started to incorporate radiology education into their core MD training.

Radiographs are produced by the transmission of x-rays through a patient to a capture-device, then converted into an image for diagnosis by a radiologist. They can scan bones, muscles, and organs with remarkable accuracy and diagnose diseases and injuries.
