A person or company that builds boats is known as a 'Boat Builder' in Onsted. And a 'Yard' is where boats are built, repaired, or stored in Onsted. The boat builders are generally capable of building the simpler types of smaller commercial vessels, such as yanks, towboats, fishing vessels, ferryboats, barges, etc. Nowadays in Onsted there are lots of companies which have been in this business for a long time, and have built large numbers of vessels and are active competitors in the market along with the companies which have a history worth recording and are still functioning as repair yards or fabricators, but which now only build boats occasionally.The parts built in a boat are hulls, the masts, spars bow, chines, deck, garboard, keel, rudder, sheer, strake, transom, stem, rigging, etc. Generally, wood is used by the boat builders for building boats.
