Port Alexander is a city located in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is part of the Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area at the southeastern corner of Baranof Island. Once a bustling city with as many as 2,500 people in the early 20th century during the 1920s. Port Alexander is called as the salmon fishing capital of the world. It is reincorporated as a second class city in 1974. There were only 81 people as of 2010 census. The city has a total area of 15.1 square miles at 56°14′24″N 134°39′26″W.
