The term 'produce'  implies that the products are fresh and generally in the same state as and where they were harvested; that is, 'produce' is the main product sold by greengrocers, and are available in farmers' markets and fruit markets in Ridgely.

Since many fruits and vegetables are eaten raw, everyone, from farmer to retailer, works diligently to protect these foods from contamination through the various stages of production, manufacturing, processing, handling, transportation, sales and consumption.
