Afton is a city in Washington County, Minnesota. Its population at the 2010 census was 2,886.
The city sits of a small bay area, where the Valley Creek empties into the St. Croix River. The city is famous for Afton Alps, the largest ski and snowboard area in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. It is also the location of Afton State Park, a popular park on the St. Croix River. For this and the small town ambience of the city itself, tourism is popular here.
The population has a majority of White Americans.
