Alamo is a city in Wheeler County, Georgia state. The city's population was 2,797 as per the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Wheeler County. The city was founded in 1909. Significant buildings include the courthouse (built in 1913) and the Lamplighter Little Theatre (built in 1919).
According to the 2000 census data, the majority of the population is African American (52.60%), along with 46.37% of White Americans, and small percentages of other races.
