Algona is a city in and the county seat of Kossuth County, Iowa. Its population at the 2000 census was 5,741. Two miles southwest of the city is the Ambrose A. Call State Park.
In 2003, Algona drew national attention when it announced the purchase of the world's largest Cheeto, as a strategy to attract tourists.
