With a total area of about 7.8 sq. miles, Alma is located in the County of Buffalo and is also the county seat of it. It is surrounded by a town of the same name. Some important interesting points is the Alma Fishing Float, River Mississippi, No.4 Dam, nesting place of the Bald Eagle, Castlerock Museum. These hold enough potential for the development of tourism in the area. Among other economic interests of the twon are the power stations of Alma and J.P. Madgett.
