Antioch is a village in the Antioch Township of Lake County, Illinois. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, and its population at the 2010 census was 14,430.
Most of Antioch's residents work outside of the village, in Chicago or neighboring villages. The village itself has some small industry, including the famous Pickard China factory.
Important employers include W.C. Petty Elementary, Super WalMart, Jewel/Osco, Antioch Community High School, Raymond Chevrolet/Kia, The Advertiser, Janis Plastics, Pickard China and a few more.
The village has a public library, it hosts a number of fishing tournaments and has a golf club. Also, the village is bordered by four holdings of the Lake County Forest Preserve District, an award winning and nationally recognized land conservation organization.
Antioch is the home of the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation (AFAF), which was established in 2001 as a not-for-profit organization whose function is to coordinate and promote area arts programs.
