<p>Atwater is a small township of Portage County. Atwater has a total area of about 67 sq. kms and is situated at an elevated height of about 1140 ft. above the ground level. Atwater is located in the southern part of the County and it borders a number of townships in the vicinity. The local school district of Waterloo operates a number of schools and serves the surrounding counties. It offers scope for not only education but also substantial employment oppurtunities for the locals. Some of the locals are also engaged with the local government bodies like Post offices, fire department and others. Tourism is also an important source of economic activity. </p>
