Aventura is a planned, suburban city located in northeastern Miami-Dade County, Florida state. As per 2010 census estimates, its population was 35,762. The name means "adventure" in Spanish.
The most famous shopping attraction is Aventura Mall, a 2,400,000 sq ft indoor shopping center. It also has a number of other malls, parks, and The Turnberry Golf Course.
Aventura was severely hit by Hurricane Wilma on October 24, 2005 and still recovering from the aftermath.
