Barrington is a town in Strafford County, New Hampshire. Its population at the 2010 census was 8,576. The town was incorporated in 1776.
The primary occupation here was smelting of iron ore. Power was provided by the water of Isinglass River. Now, the town comprises woodlands, farms, and it is essentially a bedroom community. The town has attractive scenery, and has fourteen lakes. It even has a summit point named Beauty Hill. Barrington lies within the Piscataqua River (Coastal) watershed. East Barrington is the commercial center of the town.
