Bath is a city in Sagadahoc County, Maine. Its population at the 2000 census was 9,266. It is also the county seat, and is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area. Bath is on the Kennebec River and has a port of entry with a good harbor.
The city is popular with tourists for its elegant nineteenth century architecture. It is also home to the Bath Iron Works and Heritage Days Festival, held annually on the Fourth of July weekend.
The city population predominantly comprises White Americans.
