Benton is said to be the parish seat of Bossier Parish. The larger part of the Bossier city is located in the southern part of Benton. This town maintains several types of historical buildings, primitive cabins, school house museum and many others. Benton has a total area of about 2 sq. miles. There are about three public schools in the area and provides substantial scope of employment for the locals. Tourism is an important part of the economy.
