The Mississippi Blues Commission placed a historic marker at the Peavine Railroad site intersection with Highway 446 in the city. Boyle is a site on the Mississippi Blues Trail.
According to the 2000 census, the population was 52.78% White, 45.14% African American, with the remainder being people of other races.
