Brownstown is a small town located in the County of Jackson in the US state of Indiana. The town derived its name from Jacob Brown, a war general of 1812. The town of Brownstown has a total area of about 4 sq. kms. It is located at an elevated point of about 623 ft. from the ground level. Most of the local residents are primarily engaged in a number of service oriented industries like tourism, health and the education sector in general.
