Cherokee is a town in Colbert County, Alabama. It is part of the Florence - Muscle Shoals Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is known as "The Shoals". It has a total area of 2.2 square miles, all of which is land.

Public education is administered by the Colbert County School System. It comprises the Cherokee Elementary School and Cherokee High School. One of the Rosenwald Schools was located here.
